better together

March 31st, 2015 I (Marissa) took a trip to Walmart late at night for a new makeup brush. My friend Laura and I were walking inside, talking about guys, and I turned to her and said: "Just watch, I'm going to meet the love of my life right now." And I did. We were perusing the aisles when a cute boy with a southern accent and tattoos came up to us and said: "Y'all wanna go fishin'?" I told him it was dark outside and we didn't know him. His response was "Well we can go cat fishin' and you can get to know me!" We politely declined, and he walked away. I started to feel panicked and ran after him. I barely caught him as he was leaving the store and I yelled "Hey Arkansas!" since the only thing I knew about him was that he was from Arkansas. He turned around, walked over to me and I handed him a business card that only had my email on it. Laura and I went back to her house and could not believe what had just happened. I even remember us trying to guess what his name would be. I checked my email and low and behold there he was in my inbox. Against my better judgment, I did go fishing. He gave me his last cream soda and we sat by a fire he had made. We ended up driving around in his tiny Subaru all night talking. We both felt like we had always known each other. The next evening we went on our first 'official' date at Jersey's. That night I remember going home and saying to my mom "Mom, that's my husband." Sometimes you just know. The rest is history! Travis and I are best friends and cannot wait to be husband and wife. Thank you for taking the time to read our love story!
