I was traveling from New Mexico with my puppy Rex heading home to California. One of my closest friends Eileen happened to be in route on my return home. It was New Years Eve and she convinced me to spend it with friends instead of on the road. I was always a little timid about the dunes because of a prior experience... Scott R... It was that night I was introduced to Travis. I was told if we liked each other, it will be like a comet and meteor colliding? I still don't know how I feel about that analogy. Needless to say there were some sparks.
For those of you that really know Travis, you know that he is a very thoughtful and loving man that goes out of his way to make most things perfect. He contacted my favorite acoustic singer and ukulele player on Molokai, to play our favorite song, on my favorite beach. He planned on doing it when I was surprised by my family in Molokai with a baby shower. The entire idea was beautiful. But there was bad weather and my favorite singers were not able to make it that day. The Papahaku beach had very strong winds and no one wanted to be out there including myself. So Travis, knowing I would want a good picture of him purposing took his only opportunity which was on one knee in front of my 15+ family members. I don't know if I even remember his words, I just started screaming "Oh my God". I still cant believe he got on one knee in front of so many of my loved ones including my Grandmother, Father, Step Mother and Aunts and Uncles. That alone meant everything to me.
