Wedding Party

Meet Our Wedding Party We’re so lucky to be surrounded by some of the most important people in our lives. These are a few of the friends and family who have supported us, laughed with us, and stood by our side through it all. We’re honored to have them standing with us on our big day!

Lauren Chin

Maid of Honor

Laur and I became close during freshman year of high school. We were teammates on the cross country and paddling teams, so we spent a lot of time together. She started hanging out with me and my friends on weekends, which eventually led to her dating my twin brother. We’ve definitely had our ups and downs—like when we didn’t speak for several months after that little twist. But long story short... it all worked out in the end! Over the years, we’ve shared some unforgettable moments, like when I visited her in California during our early college years. We explored, went on a wine safari where we got to feed a giraffe, and treated ourselves to ice cream almost every day. One of the most unforgettable moments is when she managed to freak me out so much at Six Flags that I ended up in tears right before we got to the front of the roller coaster line! Typical Laur. After more than a decade of fun trips, adventures, and countless memories, here we are, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’m so excited for the next chapter with Laur by my side, not just as my best friend, but soon as my sister-in-law!

Dylan Moniz

Best Man

Dyl and I basically grew up together, since my grandma and him were neighbors. Every chance we got, we were always together—always finding ways to go on random adventures or trying to make things from whatever we found on YouTube. Ever since we were kids, he's always been there for me no matter what. As we got older, our adventures turned into fishing and diving. We’d watch YouTube videos to learn how to fish, convinced we knew exactly what we were doing. We’d get dropped off at spots early in the morning and get picked up after our parents finished work. We never caught anything, but it was always a blast. Now that we’re older, Dyl lives in Hilo, but I try to fly up at least once a year to spend the weekend fishing with him. It’s the perfect way to relive those carefree days from when we were younger and had zero responsibilities. It’s all about making memories, just like old times.

Kainani Serikawa

Bridesmaid

Kainani and I met in 7th grade when I was new to HBA. I remember being scared to sit next to her in homeroom, thinking she was a mean girl who didn’t want anything to do with me—she never smiled or talked to me. Then, it got worse! We were told we’d be in a “traveling class” for the entire year... and of course, she was in mine. As the days went on, I realized she wasn’t so scary after all, she didn’t hate me, and I quickly learned that she was actually one of the best people to have around. From middle school, we’ve had our fair share of adventures. We’d dive for shells in North Shore, make jewelry, and then sell it at school. Many weekends were spent getting dropped off at Walls, swimming, and roaming around Waikiki, spending all the money we made on snacks and silly things. Kainani’s always up for anything, especially long drives where we make the plans as we go, which is how we started our sunrise tradition at Sunset Beach. Since then, our friendship has evolved through so many stages. She’s gotten married, become a mom, and we’ve both navigated life’s changes together. I know our friendship will last through all the different chapters ahead. I can't wait to see what’s next!

Enzo Takiguchi

Groomsman

I met Enzo at work when I first started and from there, the rest was history. If it weren’t for him, I would’ve never met Arianne, and I definitely wouldn’t have become part of one of the best friend groups I’ve ever been in. I’m seriously thankful for each and every one of them. From the first time Enzo invited me to go fishing with him and his friends, I knew right away these were special people, the kind you want to keep around. Enzo is always finding ways to help out and plan our fishing trips. I’ll never forget his first time ulua slide-baiting at one of my spots. Our trucks had just been broken into, so we were stuck in the parking lot dealing with that mess. All of a sudden his pole went off. Without thinking, we both took off sprinting down the cliff to get to it. Somehow, we made it in time, and he landed a 33 lb. ulua. It was chaotic, a little stressful, but honestly one of those crazy memories I’ll never forget.

Ria Shimabukuro

Bridesmaid

Ria and I became friends when she transferred to HBA in high school. We had classes together and quickly figured out how to convince our parents that we had “school projects” to work on, so we could have sleepovers during the week. In reality, we spent most of our time eating out, grabbing dessert on the way home, and scrambling to finish our project at the last minute! When Ria moved to Boston for college, I’d text her every now and then to check in, but she often wouldn’t reply. I had to follow up with a “please respond so I know you're alive" message, and sometimes, days later, she’d finally get back to me. We can go for months without talking, but every time we do catch up, it’s like no time has passed at all. Ria is the kind of friend I can do absolutely nothing with and still have the best time. When she moved back, we'd order food delivery, take naps, and just talk story at home. I think we get along so well because we’re so alike—and because we both know how to enjoy the simple moments!

Tyler Matsukawa

Groomsman

I met Tyler through Arianne and her brother Adam. He was living in California when I first started dating Arianne, but eventually he moved back to Oahu. From the day he moved back, we started fishing together and grew closer. I'll never forget the time he fought a big fish. Everyone was shouting advice, trying to help him fight it, but he had no idea what any of us were saying. We were all sick but we knew he would catch one eventually. A couple months later, I took him to one of my spots where we slide bait for uluas. He was a little nervous at first, but I’m pretty sure by the end of the night, he was happy he came. Between the strong winds, the crashing waves, and all the crazy stories about that spot, he got lucky and landed his first ulua that night. I was stoked for him, and even more stoked that I got to gaff it for him. Luckily, it was on his IRW slider and not his Carnage, since just before that we were teasing him about what he’d do if he caught something on his “cheap pole.” Now he’s got the ulua fever and that’s all he wants to do instead of getting engaged. Sorry, Bre.

Breanne Ihara

Bridesmaid

Over the past few years, Bre has become one of my closest friends. One thing I can definitely thank Tyler for is dating her, so we could become friends! Bre has been a constant source of support—always real, authentic, and someone I can truly rely on. Although we’re opposites in many ways, we understand each other in a way that makes our friendship effortless, and we balance each other perfectly. Bre is also an amazing shopping partner, always offering thoughtful feedback and helping me make decisions when I’m feeling stuck. She truly values quality time with her friends and is always the one to take the initiative to plan get-togethers, making sure we stay connected and make the most of our time together. I’m beyond grateful for the incredible friendship we’ve built, and I honestly couldn’t imagine this journey without her by my side. From hangouts to FaceTimes, Bre has been a true friend through it all, and I’m so excited for the many more memories we’ll create together!

Micah Ono

Groomsman

Micah and I met when we were really young because our families were close friends. He’s always been there for me and has helped me through things that not everyone would be willing to. We were always getting into some kind of trouble when we hung out, but those moments turned into great memories we’ll carry for the rest of our lives. Having him around has felt like having the little brother I never had, but now I do. From all the late nights fishing to all the chaos we’ve caused, I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better brother. We’ve shared a lot of funny moments, but one that stands out the most is from a camping trip. We played one game of Uno for at least eight hours just so we could stay up all night and fish. It ended up being the worst game of Uno I’ve ever played, because little did we know, we were both cheating the whole time. I haven’t played Uno since.

Charity Takiguchi

Bridesmaid

I met Charity through Enzo, who is my brother’s best friend. We became close after frequent fishing trips and eating out, which often ended with Charity and I chatting away on her couch while Adam and Enzo ended up passed out on the floor. Charity is talkative, warm, and incredibly personable, always making everyone feel welcome. Over the years, we've become close friends, and I’m so grateful for all the adventures, margaritas, and memories we’ve shared. I’d definitely say that Travis and I owe our relationship to Charity and Enzo. I wouldn't have spent as much time with Travis if it hadn’t been for Charity constantly inviting me to go fishing, driving down to Subs together, Tuesday movie nights, and, of course, all the eating we did... especially since I was keeping Travis in the friend zone back then! I’m more than happy with how things turned out, and I’m looking forward to many more double dates ahead!

Adam Murakami

Groomsman

I met Adam through Enzo when we used to go fishing together. Adam lives in California and would come back every so often, and every time he did, Enzo would plan fishing trips. I had no idea Arianne was his sister—his twin sister, to be exact—until one day we were getting ready to head out, and they said we had to wait for his sister to get home so we could all go together. When she walked in, I was a little confused. But now, here we are. I couldn’t be happier to have both of them in my life- one as my wife, and one as my brother. Every time Adam comes back to visit, we’re either out fishing or hanging out with everyone, making great memories. He’s the type of guy who brings people together and makes sure everyone’s having a good time. I’m so grateful and lucky to be able to call him my brother.

Devan Ando

Flower Boy

I met Ando through Enzo, since they’d go fishing together every chance they got. Ando was always known as the smallest one in the group, but he was also always smiling and bringing good vibes wherever he went. He’s also the only person I know who calls a cooler an “ice chest,” which we all tease him about to this day. Slowly but surely, we’re trying to get him to call it a cooler like the rest of us. Even though he lives the furthest from everyone, he always finds a way to show up for whatever plans we make. I usually don’t like asking people for help, but one time I needed to make over 200 pounds of spicy ahi for a wedding and birthday party. I figured I’d ask a couple friends to help—and sure enough, Ando was the first one to say yes, even though he already had other plans. All he asked was, “Will there be beers?”—and then he showed up ready to work. Ando will always be known as the laid-back guy who’s just there to have fun and do his thing. I’m lucky to have him around.

Justin Roose

Flower Boy

Justin is another friend that I met through Enzo. He is always the one that everyone is pulling pranks on or joking around with but no matter what he always laughs about everything. Although we always joke around with him, he always has a big smile and goes along with the joke. He always knows how to have fun and I always look forward to going to his his house for cookouts. One thing I’ll never forget is that he’s a nurse, and let’s just say, I hope I never end up in the hospital with him as my nurse. One fishing trip, I cut my foot pretty bad and it was full of sand and still bleeding. When we got to his house, I figured it was smart to ask him for help, you know, since he’s a professional. But all he did was hand me a bottle of Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer and told me to use that. Of course, I did it anyway. It didn’t clean the cut, there was still sand in it, and it burned like crazy. But hey, at least it smelled nice. Justin’s definitely the life of the party whenever he’s around, and I’m glad to have him as a friend.
