First and foremost, I have to give a shout-out to my mama for the intro! That's right! Kudos mom! She was back in school and Travis was in his first year of college. They sat next to each other in a math class. I also went to that same school but Travis and I had never crossed paths before so my mom decided to play matchmaker (she did a great job LOL!). Trav and I met up in the tutoring center then had our first date shortly after that on a class trip to a Chicago Cub's baseball game. We hit it off from the get-go and it turned into our forever love story!
Travis and I went on a December getaway to Costa Rica! We spent a week in the rainforest near the Arenal Volcano exploring, seeing new animals, and trying new foods. On the third day of our vacation (Dec. 17), we decided to go on a hike to see the La Fortuna waterfall. We saw wild orchids and packs of howler monkeys on the way! We were amazed when we finally got to the waterfall. It was so beautiful!.. 200 feet tall and so powerful. We decided to climb up on a platform right in front of the waterfall for the best view. Travis asked someone to take our picture and when I turned around from gazing at the waterfall he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I'll never forget the look in his eyes. Of course I said YES! La Fortuna means "The Fortune" in English. It was a very fortunate waterfall for us after all!
