Travis and Alaina met at Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church, Travis was 13 years old and Alaina was 12. At the time, the two became close friends through the youth group at their church. They attended church together, went on ski trips with the local youth group, and spent time together with friends. Although they became close to one another, they lost touch for many years, growing and walking through life on their own paths for several years.

Although Travis and Alaina had lost touch for many years, their paths crossed once again while they were both serving as camp counselors at the local Greek Orthodox religious camp in the summer of 2017. Travis and Alaina both enjoyed spending time with one another, it was as if no time had passed since they became friends so many years before. Though they had a wonderful time with each other during their time as summer camp counselors, Travis and Alaina both had to return to their colleges that fall. Travis returned to Quinnipiac University to complete his senior year and Alaina returned to the University of Scranton to complete her junior year of college. Travis and Alaina spoke each and every day; over the phone, via FaceTime, or visiting each other at college every weekend. Over the course of several months, Travis and Alaina's friendship grew stronger and stronger, and in the fall of 2016, Alaina and Travis began dating on November 4th, 2016.

Travis and Alaina dated for three and a half years. Each year brought new challenges and beautiful joys, bringing them even closer to one another. On December 21, 2020 Travis planned a beautiful day in New York City for himself and Alaina. Little did Alaina know, Travis had a few tricks up his sleeve... Travis brought Alaina around New York City, exploring the beauty that NYC has to offer during Christmas time. Travis had told Alaina that there was going to be a party at the building where his father works, 3 World Trade, for the company Spotify, and that Travis and Alaina would be lucky enough to crash the party. Travis brought Alaina up to one of the highest floors in Tower 3. Travis brought Alaina towards the beautiful windows with the view of the NYC skyline, went down on one knee, and asked Alaina to spend the rest of her life with him. It truly was a beautiful day, celebrated with family and close friends. A day that Travis and Alaina will never forget!
