Our story began at the University of Central Florida, where Travis was in a history class with Caroline’s sister, Grace. Caroline would occasionally stop by before her own class next door, and a friendship quickly formed. For the next seven years, our connection remained rooted in friendship. We spent time kayaking, biking, and hiking together, always enjoying one another’s company, though never crossing into anything more. After a few years of limited contact, life brought us back together in an unexpected way. Caroline had just returned from traveling and, despite cancelling plans due to exhaustion, Travis stopped by her home. What was meant to be a brief visit turned into five hours of conversation that neither of us wanted to end. The following day, we met for drinks at Zymarium and spent yet another evening lost in conversation. Soon after, Caroline needed a home inspection, and Travis kindly offered his help. What should have taken no more than twenty minutes somehow lasted the entire day. That evening, Travis asked Caroline out!
Travis proposed at the Little Big Econlockhatchee River, where we spent our time kayaking, biking, and hiking when we were just friends.
Caroline has always loved the Cotswolds, and it was one of the first places Travis and Caroline travelled together. Lower Slaughter is our particular favourite! Forget walks on the beach...walking through the countryside and pub hopping is our favourite pastime.
As we were driving, we were struck by the bucolic beauty that is St. Eadburgha's! We turned the car around to have a look and fell in love. When we decided on the Cotswolds, it was the first place we called. Coincidentally, Travis' family dog growing up was Edburg- spelled differently but pronounced the same!
