IT'S PARTY TIME!

Once upon a time there was VOLO Sports. Groups of twenty year olds would gather on Tuesday nights in a park to play "Cup in Hand Kickball" followed by flip cup at the local Blake Street Tavern. Every player has to hold a red cup filled with beer in one hand and play kickball without spilling any beer. If a player spills, a penalty applies. One night in May of 2019 Carly was playing first base and Ryan was playing right field. A line drive was kicked straight to Carly's chest, the ball shot up straight into the sky and Ryan dove on one knee (not the only time he'd be on one knee in her presence) and he caught the ball without a drop of beer spilled. Ryan was a hero. They chest bumped and that was the start of their friendship. If you didn't know already, Ryan and Carly were friends long before they decided to date. Rachael Pennington (Matron of Honor) was Carly's roommate in college at SDSU. Rachael married Connor Pennington (Officiant) who was Ryan's BFF at Adobe. They ran in the same circles, played a lot of golf, went to a lot of concerts and never thought of one another as more than a friend until May 21st, 2022. On a brisk thirty degree night at Empower Field, Rachael, Connor, Ryan and Carly headed to a Luke Combs concert. Due to the chill in the air, many tequila shots were had to warm their bodies. Connor and Rachael were slow dancing to their wedding song 'Beautiful Crazy' in the aisle. Carly turns to Ryan and says, "I wish someone would call me beautiful" Ryan responds, "I think you're beautiful." Carly replies "Should we make out?" Ryan quickly agrees, grabs her face and they make out. Meanwhile Connor aghast, had to pick his chin up off the ground as they continued to dance the night away. After that night at Luke Combs, Carly and Ryan continued to hang out and chat daily. One thing led to another and soon they were boyfriend girlfriend. Carly beat him to the punch over jalapeno tequila shots at JPP their local dive bar, but Ryan sealed the deal with flowers and a cute white board "check yes or no" a few sober days later on July 21st, 2022. Since July 21st 2022, Ryan and Carly have made memories filled with many bad golf rounds, late night shows at Red Rocks, travels abroad through numerous countries, and countless date nights. Ryan asked for Carly's hand in marriage at City Park Golf Course on May 4th, 2024. On National Star Wars Day, you ask? Yes, May the Fourth be with you ladies and gentlemen, in real true nerd fashion. He asked for her hand in marriage on the same tee box that they performed a hilarious "fake proposal" the year before on April Fools Day. They love a good joke. Carly and Ryan are excited to celebrate their love with you on October 11th, 2025. They can't wait to party accordingly.
