7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Casual attire
Jeff & Sabrina will plan to be in the Whiskey Bar at the historic and beautiful Stanley Hotel at 7:30pm Wednesday, June 4th (the evening before the big day). Although we don't have a formal reservation for this event (and don't intend to get one), we'd love to see you there if you are able to stop in and say hi! A lot of you will be traveling in from out of state, so we'd like this to be a casual meet & greet to hug you upon your arrival in Colorado and Estes Park. And to make it even more fun, the Stanley Hotel is where Stephen King got the idea for the book/movie "The Shining" - the hotel is rumored to be haunted, and there are ghost tours available if you are brave enough!
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Since many of you are traveling here from out of state, we encourage you to take this opportunity to explore this magnificent national park on our wedding day! You can enter the park on our wedding permit as early as 11:00am (details below in the Wedding section of this page), and stay in the park as long as you like for the day (keep in mind we hope to see you at the wedding at 1:00pm and the reception in town at 5:00pm). If you plan to enter the park any other day you will need a timed-entry permit reserved in advance through the NPS reservation system. These reservations can be hard to get due to high demand, so take advantage of our wedding permit for easy access on June 5th. Ideas: - Take the free park shuttle to Sprague Lake or Bear Lake for a short hike around either lake - Drive to the top of the park and the continental divide (over 12,000 feet elevation) by making the trip up Trail Ridge Road to the Alpine Visitor Center
1:00 pm - 1:30 pm
The amphitheater is outside/unsheltered and accessed from the paved parking lot by a short dirt trail with 16 rock steps. Please wear sturdy shoes (no heels, Danita!) and clothes appropriate for the Rocky Mountains in the late spring - rain or shine! Jeans, boots, and fleece are appropriate here; no need to dress up. There are bench seats at the amphitheater for us to use.
Carpooling is recommended, as our National Park Service wedding permit only allows 10 cars in the amphitheater parking lot. We will work to coordinate with all our ceremony guests in advance so everyone has a ride and we can minimize vehicle traffic. Each car will be given a copy of our permit which acts as your timed-entry into the park; no need to reserve a separate timed-entry permit through the NPS reservation system. Park entry starts at 11:00am on our permit (2 hours before the ceremony) if you want to get in early to explore the park. Each car will still have to pay the park entry fee. Currently the entrance fee is $30 per vehicle unless you have a valid America the Beautiful pass. After the ceremony, we will do our wedding photos at different locations in the park; please feel free to take this time to explore the park on your own! We are happy to give recs on where to go. Plan to exit the park in time to get to our reception in Estes Park at 5:00pm.
5:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Time to dress up and get your dancin' shoes on! Jeans and sturdy shoes are ok if they're not muddy. Ladies feel free to get dolled up as much as you like. Men please consider wearing a tie or jacket.
We'll have private access to the Bristlecone Inn's indoor dining room and bar as well as the outdoor patio and lawn area. Cocktails, dinner, and dessert will be served, followed by dancing on the patio (weather permitting). Please let us know by May 1, 2025, if you have any food allergies, gluten sensitivities, or other food preferences that will help us plan the night's menu.
