FAQs

Question

What should I know about COVID-19 before I arrive?

Answer

Our wedding venue is considered an outdoor space, so vaccinations are not required to attend our wedding. However we strongly encourage our guests to get vaccinated to protect themselves and the rest of our friends and family. If you are not vaccinated, you will need to take a COVID test before arriving to our wedding. WE WILL BE CHECKING FOR YOUR CDC VACCINATION CARDS OR EVIDENCE OF A RECENT NEGATIVE COVID TEST FOR ALL ADULT GUESTS AT THE DOOR. Beyond our wedding, NYC now requires proof of at least one vaccination for any indoor venues including restaurants (dining indoors only), museums, and other tourist activities. There are no exceptions to this rule. For more information, see https://www.nycgo.com/coronavirus-information-and-resources-for-travelers

Question

Where can I get a COVID test?

Answer

If you need a test and have not had one before arriving in the city, there are plenty of free, no appointment needed places in the area. The closest one to the hotel is LabQ Diagnostics at 977 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222. It is within walking distance of the hotel, and LabQ guarentees a result in under 24Hrs. Hours are 10am-5pm, Sun - Fri (Closed Saturday).

Question

I have dietary restrictions or food allergies. Can I make a special request?

Answer

If you have any dietary restrictions, please reach out to us directly as soon as possible and we will do what we can to accommodate them.

Question

How soon should I reserve a hotel room?

Answer

If you plan on staying at The Box House, please reserve a room soon to take advantage of the discount! Otherwise there are plenty of other accommodations to choose from, but the earlier you book the more choice you will have.

Question

Where can I park my car?

Answer

This part of the city is relatively quiet and easy to drive in. If you are driving to the wedding, there is plenty of free, unrestricted street parking around the Hotel.

Question

What's the closest Subway line?

Answer

The G Line is the closest train and within a 5 minutes walk to the venue. The 7 Train and Long Island City Train are both close as well, but some may prefer to take an Uber/Lyft from the station to the venue to cross the Pulaski Bridge (Otherwise it's a 10 minute walk across).

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Thank you for considering bringing a gift to the wedding! But, since we will be travelling back home to Seattle soon after the wedding we ask that you do not bring gifts to the event. If you'd like to get us a gift, please check out our Registry page. Gifts purchased from the Registry will be sent directly to our home.
