We’re getting married!

Our story began around the end of May 2017 working as Teaching Assistants at ‘All-Star Academy’, an after-school & camp program. Both being introverted and children at heart, this was the perfect setting for us to have met! Prior to meeting, Erika moved from Newbury Park to San Diego and lived with her Maid of Honor, Justina. Erika worked in a cafe for the first few months, deeply desiring a career change. At this same time, Nick was in college, studying to become a Computer Engineer, while he was working at All-Star Academy part-time. After Erika was hired, our intial realtionship started as co-workers, then we were quick to become friends. We remained friends for the first six months of knowing each other, secretly hoping we would always be scheduled together. We didn’t realize fully at the time, but it was just so natural/easy when we were together, and the highlight of our days were smiling at each other in passing down the halls at work. When Erika left for a surgery for a month, separately, we fully realized our true budding feelings as we really missed each other once being away. When Erika returned, thats when eveything changed. We started hanging out more outside of work and mainly bonded over our similar sense of dry humor. This similar taste led to our first date at the movies and after a few more dates, we became official January 9th, 2018. Since then, we have been inseparable and love doing life together. From traveling to several different countries, all the fun times with family & friends, adopting the true love of our lives (our pup Winston) , with so much in between! We are so excited to get married and celebrate with all of our loved ones.

Some of our favorite hobbies as a couple include hiking, nature, cafes, secluded places, Italian food, traveling, and dogs. Our proposal spot had all of these special components. We had been planning to go on a camping trip toward the end of the year and, little to Erikas knowledge, Nick was planning to propose on that trip. With their puppy Winston, they traveled to Idyllwild, CA and stayed in a beautiful cabin at the top of a hill with a very scenic view of the trees. After a day of exploring the town and visiting cafes, we had dinner at a beautiful Italian restaurant called FERRO. After dinner, a beautiful sunset painted the sky and Nick nervously proposed back at our cabin. After wiping their tears away, their friends Justina, Josh and their dog Obi jumped out and surprised Erika (and Winston) and snapped a few photos of the moment. We then all celebrated the entire night! October 3rd will always be a special day for us as it is already Erika's late grandpa's birthday and now it is our proposal date forever linking the two. Fall + Winter has always been a sentimental time for us as a couple and we can't wait to make that season even more special, seeing everybody at our fall wedding!
