It might sound cheesy but Cupid really did bring us together just around Valentine’s Day of 2018. OK Cupid, that is! Yes, we met in the most traditional and romantic way ever: online dating. After setting up our profiles, we quickly connected with one another because of our shared interests in outdoor activities, traveling, country music, and spending time with family. Then, a few messages led to exchanging phone numbers, which led to setting up a coffee date at Old Towne Orange. We had such a fun and genuine conversation just about anything and everything. As I was sitting across from Jason that sprinkling February evening, sipping my hot lavender latte, I felt like I have known him forever and that I was talking to my bestfriend. And well, the rest was history… :)
In April 2021, we - together with Jason's sister and brother-in-law, Dani and Brian - got the permit to hike the Half Dome cables at Yosemite National Park. We started at 5:00 A.M. when it was still cold and dark, and it took us approximately 5 hours to make it to the top. It was a beautiful day for a hike but the view of Yosemite from the top of Half Dome was even more amazing. As we always do when traveling together, we asked if Dani could snap a few pictures of us. She ended up capturing the entire surprise proposal - from us posing for the pictures to Jason getting down on one knee to me excitingly saying "Yes!" before he could finish asking :) Almost 13 hours, 19 miles, and 50,000 steps later, it was out best hike yet. Now, we are excited to spend the rest of our journey together as a family, and we can't wait to celebrate with you!
