Hannah and Timmy first met in the halls of West Brunswick High School, but it was their time spent scooping the perfect amount of ice cream during shifts at Calabash Creamery when they really got to know each other. In fact, it wasn't long after Hannah's shifts at the creamery started when she noticed Timmy began showing up to her volleyball games or hanging out in a crowd of their mutual friends. Timmy graduated from West and headed to East Carolina University, and Hannah coincidentally joined him the next year as she enrolled in ECU's nursing program. Now, eight years after they perfected that perfect scoop at Calabash Creamery, the two have settled back near their families and are ready to celebrate their next chapter in November 2020.
What Hannah thought was just another Sunday boat ride down to Inlet View to meet friends for a couple of drinks turned out to be the best day of their lives. As they pulled up to the dock, Timmy asked Hannah to search for a bumper in the hatch, and she dutifully started looking for it, not knowing the bumper was a distraction as Timmy got ready with the ring. So it came as a complete shock to Hannah -- who is usually very good at figuring out surprises -- when she turned around and saw Timmy down on one knee. Once she said yes, the two were greeted by family and friends who were hiding on the restaurant's patios. The magical proposal was made even more special by the ring Timmy chose to propose with: heirloom diamonds from Timmy's grandmother's wedding set adorn the platinum band designed by Timmy himself.
