Yes, we have moved our wedding to next summer to July 2, 2021. Hopefully, this new later date will allow us to celebrate safely with all our friends and family!
The big day is Friday, July 2. If you arriving from America on an overnight flight, we would recommend flying in the previous day (Thursday, July 1) to allow for time to arrive to the venue. If you find yourself in the Newtown Mount Kennedy area Thursday night, we will be having drinks in the bar at Druid's Glenn Hotel. You are welcome to join!
We would highly recommend staying in the area near the venue in Wicklow on the Friday and Saturday nights. While Dublin city is not a far drive from the venue (40 min), there will be limited taxi options returning to the city at night from Wicklow and driving may not be the best option for post-partiers. For Americans hoping to utilize Uber / Lyft, these services are not available in Ireland. Additionally, Ireland has very strict drunk driving laws and there is a no tolerance approach to alcohol consumption prior to driving (i.e. legal limit is ZERO) for those hoping to utilize a rental car.
There is parking at both the Church and the reception for those driving. Otherwise, there will be transportation provided for those requiring it on the day of the wedding. We will have shuttles transporting guests from Newtown Mount Kennedy area hotels (Druid's Glenn, Parkview) to the church and back to Trudder Lodge. At night, we will be running limited local shuttles to the same hotels. There will be no transportation provided to / from Dublin city center on the day of the wedding.
We love your little ones, but we have chosen for our wedding ceremony and reception to be an adult-only occasion. Children are, however, welcome at the 4th of July cookout the following day! We hope this advance notice means parents will still be able to share our big day and enjoy having the time off! If childcare is a concern for you, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.
