Long story short: Steven and Tracy’s story began in 2017 at RedFarm on the Upper West Side of NYC. She was a dancer working as a hostess; he was a server and bartender. The two reconnected in 2018, and their first date—an omakase dinner at Juku—sparked something special (thanks, fermented uni). They were a blend of opposites yet filled in where the other lacked—like yin and yang, or kimchi and rice. What began as a shared love of Korean food soon became something deeper. Long distance was no stranger to them, and never in a million years did they imagine how far their relationship would go. But one thing led to another… and before they knew it, a true New Yorker had traded the concrete jungle for LA sunshine— all for love.
We were on our way to dinner in Long Beach when Steven suddenly mentioned he wanted to stop by the beach for photos. After a few confused glances, we found ourselves heading to our favorite spot, Corona Del Mar. The sun was setting as we walked down to the water. With the sound of the waves behind us, Steven knelt down, pulled out a ring, and said, “I want to take on the world with you. Will you marry me?” And just like that, the two water signs were engaged—an intimate, perfect moment that will always belong to us.
