Question

Why Crested Butte?

Answer

We're so glad you asked. Crested Butte holds a special place in our hearts, as well as many special memories for us including our engagement. It felt like the perfect place to start our married life together and we are excited to share it with our friends and family. We hope you get out and enjoy it's wild beauty and its charm on one of the most beautiful weekends of the year. Thanks for making the journey!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The attire is Cocktail, aka Mountain Fancy. Jacket optional, dresses, preferably no blue jeans. The ceremony will be on grass so consider footwear accordingly.

Question

Are the ceremony and the reception at the same location?

Answer

Yes! The entire event will be held at Town Ranch Event Area just outside of downtown Crested Butte.

Question

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The entire event will be held outdoors, but the reception will be underneath a large tent.

Question

How do I prepare for variable mountain weather?

Answer

Layers.

Question

What's for dinner?

Answer

The event will be catered by Mount Kaz Catering. Chicken, fish and beef and delicious veggie sides will be served family style. If you would like a vegan or vegetarian plate or have other special dietary restrictions, please note this when you RSVP and we are more than happy to accommodate.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

Unfortunately the venue, although outdoors, does not allow our canine friends, although the entire surrounding area is a dog friendly bike path if your pet is traveling with you.

Question

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

We love and want to celebrate with your kids as much as we love and want to celebrate with you, and we don't want lack of childcare to keep you from celebrating with us. The event will be kid-friendly, but please note if they will be attending when you RSVP so we can plan accordingly for food and seating.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Yes. There is a large dirt lot right next to the venue, and overflow parking along the road leading into Town Ranch event area and along the side of the adjacent highway. There are a limited number of accessible parking spaces.

Question

Is there a shuttle?

Answer

If you are staying in town or near Mount Crested and would rather not drive at all, Crested Butte has a free Town Shuttle that runs between town and Mount Crested Butte every twenty minutes. The 6th and Belleview stop is 0.3 miles from the venue. Summer Shuttle Schedule: https://www.mtnexp.org/schedules-routes/summer/

Question

Are there bathrooms?

Answer

Yes, there are mens and womens accessible plumbed, heated, lit restrooms at the event area.

Question

What about that altitude?

Answer

Glad you asked. The Town of Crested Butte sits at 8,885 feet. For our beloved lowlander friends and family, please remember to drink lots of water, wear sun protection and keep the impacts of altitude in mind when you're at the bar.

Question

Can I camp?

Answer

It's an excellent time of year to camp in Crested Butte. But please note that camping is restricted to designated sites in most places near town, with the exception of McClure Pass. There are a limited number of first come first serve sites, but getting a site can be competitive. See travel page for more information on camping in Crested Butte.
