We first met in one of Chicago's premier clubs on April 2, 2011. Adrian was celebrating his birthday and I had just attended a Mike Epps comedy show at UIC, my alma mater. Our drive to be crowned the dance king/queen of the dance floor sparked an epic dance battle that lasted the entire night and to our surprise has never ended. Our first date happened two weeks later on April 16, 2011, and he has been sweeping me off my feet ever since.

It was only fitting that Adrian propose on the day of our 10 year anniversary on April 16, 2021. That day we planned a small birthday/anniversary party at our apartment, but unbeknownst to me, it was a surprise engagement party. I was overjoyed to say yes to the next step in our relationship. On August 14, 2021 we had a small courthouse ceremony followed by brunch for immediate family and friends, and the rest is history.
