Stephen and I met in college at Northeastern State University. I worked in the library and every morning he would walk through on his way to class. One day he sent me a text told me I looked beautiful and that was the beginning to our happy ever after.
On Thursday evening Stephen said he wanted to go to Oklahoma with me for Mother’s Day, I thought that was weird because he’s normally with his mom for that day but he said that Pops was taking her out of town. So Friday we get into town and Saturday I take my mom to get a pedicure she asked if I was getting my nails done too I told her no but she insisted so I did. We all went to watch my nephew play basketball and I left to get my hair done while Stephen was visiting with my parents. When I came home Stephen suggested that we all go out to eat for Mother’s Day I told him my dad is not going for that with COVID he said just ask and see so I mentioned it to dad and he said well your mom did say she wants a steak. So we go to Tulsa to Longhorn steak house my sister had called to see if I wanted to go shopping so I invited her to come eat with us. Get to the restaurant I go in to out our names on the list for 8 people. I come outside and see his parents to my surprise I just assumed they were out driving around and decided to come to Oklahoma. The restaurant wouldn’t wouldn’t seat us together because our party turned into 10 people. So once our meal was complete the waitress said that we would get complimentary desert they bring out the silverware and then the dessert on the plate was written Marry Me Traci it seemed like it took me forever to read the plate but when I turned around Stephen was on one knee he said I know it’s taken me a while but will you marry me ? It was the best night ever he made sure my family was there to capture the moment and I was completely surprised!
