We met in theatre in August of 2012. We had an assignment that required us to speak to most of our classmates in order to ask them to sign each box on a paper we had. Issac and I signed each others papers without saying more than three words to each other. Somehow within a few weeks Issac found himself sitting at my table. Later in the semester we all had to do a scene with a partner, can you guess who ended up being my partner? Issac played my boyfriend in the skit. Each time we would rehearse our lines, we would get to my line where I called him "baby" and he would bust out laughing. After rehearsing our lines for a few weeks and dropping hints that I liked him, I finally asked for his phone number. But that still wasn't enough for someone to see that I liked him. I assumed he didn't like me back, so instead he became my best friend.
Three months after we met, November 20th 2012, Issac began acting strange. He was avoiding me and whispering to his friends about me when I would walk by. This went on from the beginning of the school day until right before our last class. He would take out a piece of paper he had folded in his wallet, hold it for a few minutes, then he would put it back. I finally asked what the piece of paper was, and he gave it to me just as the bell rang. I went to my seventh period class and read the note. It was a full page about how I was his best friend and how I was so different from other girls because I wasn't "afraid of a cheese burger." (I still think he called me fat while complimenting me but anyway.) At the bottom of the note in huge, block letters was WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME? Of course I said yes, but I had no idea that it would lead to such a wonderful and loving relationship over six years later. I still carry my note with me everyday.
