Our Story

Te Amo Mi Amor

The story of Emerito and Tracey began in August of 2014 as they began working at the restaurant Cantina Laredo in Birmingham, AL. He was a server assistant...she was a server. Over time, they both began to notice each other more and more. They both knew there was something special between them when Tracey began singing (quietly) the song Yo No Se Manana in Spanish while both were at work as the song played in the background. Emerito saw this and was a little surprised. Tracey saw that he noticed and immediately knew there was a connection. Over time, both were nervous to approach each other. They each used one of their friends (Ashley and JB) to try and figure out a way to start hanging out. Finally, they went on their first date in January of 2015 and their relationship continues to grow and grow. Proposal day arrived and Emerito created a memory filled scavenger hunt around Birmingham for Tracey. Each location held meaning to both Tracey and Emerito as each location represented a memory. Not only were the places important, but Emerito had an important person waiting on Tracey at each location to give her clues. Ranging from her friends Kristen at the Botanical Gardens, Rishon at the Moss Rock Preserve waterfall, Ashley and Justin at Avondale Park, their manager Susi at Cantina Laredo, and JB as the scavenger hunt starter at Danielle's apartment, to her mom Denise at Railroad Park. Her friend Danielle, was her guide through the whole adventure that kept everything on schedule and kept everything a fantastic secret. As Tracey saw her mom at Railroad Park to give her the last clue, Tracey knew what was coming. Tracey made her way to the bridge as Emerito stood waiting on her arrival. Through very nervous yet perfect words, Emerito asked Tracey to marry him. Tracey said, "YES!" and everyone began to celebrate. Everyone popped out of bushes, behind trees, under bridges, and the happiness spread. The day was perfect and they are now planning their life together.
