City Hall is directly across the street from The Notary Hotel. Google maps says it is only a 47 second walk to your ultimate Philadelphia tourist photo!
Just a 4 minute walk from The Notary Hotel is one of the oldest public markets in the US and a Philadelphia MUST see! Do you want a cheesesteak? Fresh fruit? Handmade jewelry? Perhaps a pastry made by the Pennsylvania Dutch? Artisan cheese? A whole, defeathered duck? Whatever it is you're in the mood for, they have it and it will be amazing. It's been around since 1893 for a reason!
Another 4 minute walk from the hotel is Love Park and the iconic sign! I'm sure waiting in line to take a photo on Valentines Day weekend won't be a nightmare at all!
The nearest gym is City Fitness on South Street which is a 4 minute walk. (Gabe said I had to add this)
The Liberty Bell is a 5 minute drive or 17 minute walk from The Notary Hotel. Out of town guests, I do have to warn you, it is underwhelming. But it's there!
Independence Hall is directly across the street from the Liberty Bell! Go take a gander and then take the four minute walk over to Independence Beer Garden where you can drink just like our founding fathers were while writing the constitution. I love history!
Take a load off here after a long day of looking at old buildings. Alternative option: take the 17 minute walk (or a 5 minute Uber from the hotel), hang out here, and upload photos of all the local historical sights you googled to your Instagram story while trying local beer.
Just a 10 minute drive from The Notary Hotel is... another building! (This one is smaller)
For friends and family with a zero-proof lifestyle, check out this zero-proof bar in Fishtown! A 15 minute drive from The Notary Hotel and a wide array of mocktails and zero proof wines, beer, and spirits await!
The Philadelphia Museum of Art (AKA "The Rocky Steps") is a 10 minute drive from The Notary! (We won't tell anyone if you don't actually check out the museum and just want your picture with the Rocky statue)
We had our first date here! We cannot recommend it enough. Enjoy the casual atmosphere, killer food, and wide variety of amazing cocktails to choose from! Fun fact: Katie worked here previously and told the staff that if the date goes badly she would pretend to go to the restroom and run out the back through the kitchen. Luckily, that wasn't necessary and it went so well we get to have a big party about it now!
If our Friday the 13th wedding has you in the mood for something more spooky, take the 10 minute drive to tour Eastern State Penitentiary! Once home to Al Capone and somehow even worse people! Gabe might even join you... Katie will not!
If our Friday the 13th wedding has you in the mood for something even STRANGER, take the 10 minute drive from The Notary to the Mutter Museum! Definitely google this one beforehand because it is not for the faint of heart!
