We understand ALL TOO WELL how limiting time, health and funds can be sometimes, but here we are planning a destination wedding!!! Considering all of our loved ones are all over the world, having a destination wedding makes sense for us. HOWEVER, it might not make sense for you. If you can't afford to be there, or you aren't physically able to be there for any reason you have, we LOVE YOU and WE UNDERSTAND completely! We HOPE, but don't EXPECT you to be there. We have tried to provide some options for varying budgets and needs and it would be so very wonderful to see you there, but we will LIVE STREAM the whole ceremony if you can't be there! xoxoxox
It is our sincerest goal to get some time with every single one of you. We really want to prioritize having fun and relaxing together and we fully plan on being present! We will be around all Friday, Saturday morning before the wedding chilling around the pool and beach, and Sunday morning at breakfast and then in the afternoon through the rain forest. We want to see YOU! We can't wait to share this time with all of you.
We have heard quite a bit of interest of people coming solo which is totally cool! We are creating a private Facebook group of people who have RSVP'd yes so you can communicate with one another and see if you want to share rooms, travel together etc. Also helps build a fun community of awesome people for one fun weekend!
So, we are getting married in the RAINY SEASON!! Yes, this means it will most likely rain on our wedding day!! We are very much excited about our version of Monsoon Wedding...in fact we fully embrace the idea -- but you need to know what you're in for! Chances are it will be periodically rainy, so you should bring your cutest umbrella/rain gear and be kind to yourself in terms of shoes. Be comfy and don't worry about frizzy hair. The great news is that rainy season is lush and green; the monkeys, toucans and sloths are out and about, and the hotel and flight prices are much more reasonable! :) You can expect the temp to be around 78-85 F or 28-30 C daily! And humid!
There's not been a single case this year. Here is the text from the official report that was sent by our planner. "Regarding the ZIKA situation, I got the latest report from the health department in CR, Province: Puntarenas, our region is Central Pacific and the canton( district) is called Aguirre, so far this year we have had 00 cases. September is within the rainy season, as I have explain before, the best way to avoid mosquitos is using repellent, we are in the rain forest – not exactly a jungle – but similar. Mosquitoes breed in stagnant, standing water. In tin cans, buckets, discarded tires and other artificial containers that hold stagnant water. In untended pools, birdbaths, wading pools that hold stagnant water, things that we are highly careful in the Hotel, not to have." Of course you can also do your own research, and we will not judge you whatsoever if you are spooked out of coming. Totally your call. But, you should know the facts so there they are! We aren't worried!
We would love it if you'd stay at Costa Verde. It's where all the action is all weekend and there are good budget options for various budgets. check out the travel section for more info! Don't forget to email them DIRECTLY so you get your 10% discount on your room! reservations@costaverde.com
Nope, you just need to get yourself to Costa Verde from the airport. Check out details in travel section. If you're staying at the hotel there are food options and also restaurants and supermarkets in walking distance. if you prefer to cook for yourself there are kitchen facilities in some of the rooms. You CAN rent a car but you certainly don't need to. There are also things to watch out for (like rain and mud etc) Further info in the travel section!
