David had two extra tickets to an all-white birthday party at Lotus Lounge and invited Tottiana and her friend. It was there that Tottiana met Jamal on the dance floor, and they spent the night dancing and chatting, creating a special moment where the rest of the world seemed to fade away. After a few months of missed connections, Tottiana finally agreed to grab some food with Jamal. Unfortunately, their communication started to dwindle again. They would bump into each other from time to time, exchange friendly hellos, and trade phone numbers, but then go their separate ways. April 19th, 2013, Tottiana was working the door at Platinum Nightlife when Jamal walked in solo. At first, she didn’t recognize him right away, but once she did, it was like a light bulb went off! Normally, Jamal would be the one to greet her first, so when he didn't say anything as she walked by, she found it a bit puzzling.
