Tory and Madison’s story began long before they ever imagined it would lead here. They met as teenagers, sharing a circle of friends and a natural bond rooted in friendship and support. Life took them in different directions, each choosing their own path and growing through their own adventures. Yet through the years, they always found ways to check in, cheer each other on, and celebrate one another’s wins. Tory’s family home had always been a place to gather, full of laughter, warmth, and open doors. Over the years, Madison joined in for a few of those gatherings, never realizing how much those moments would later mean. One holiday season, when Tory was home visiting, he invited Madison over for an evening of friendly competition and dice games with friends and family. Madison showed up with a simple but thoughtful gesture, flowers to congratulate Tory on his accomplishments in the Navy. Tory placed them on the counter, touched by her kindness. The next morning, as the flowers still sat on the counter, Tory’s mom smiled and said, “You better lock it down.” They both laughed when he told Madison the story later, but deep down, they each wondered if she might be right. Not long after, they met for coffee at Anthem, a familiar spot where they had once swapped business ideas. What started as a casual catch-up turned into an evening filled with sparks. They took the kids for pizza and ice cream, listened to Christmas music, and drove through neighborhoods decorated with Christmas lights. They held hands for the first time and sealed the night with their first kiss. It felt easy. It felt right. Tory then invited Madison and the kids over on Christmas Eve, where Mama Lord immediately jumped up to bake cookies for the little ones when she heard they were coming. Just a few days later, Tory planned their first official date, an elaborate adventure to Leavenworth on December 27th. Under the twinkling Christmas lights, they wandered through the snowy Bavarian village, explored shops, shared delicious food, and laughed endlessly. That night, Tory looked at Madison and said, “I’ve put a lot of thought into this… I want to do this. With you, the kids, all of it.” Madison didn’t hesitate for a second; she was all in. The months that followed were filled with distance and devotion. Between Washington, San Diego, Florida, and North Carolina, they made the most of every moment together, flying back and forth, cherishing their time together, exploring new cities, beaches, arcades, comedy clubs, and enjoying rides on the back of Tory’s motorcycle. When apart, they found creative ways to stay connected. They talked for hours every day on the phone, syncing up movies, reading the Bible, completing fitness challenges, sharing dreams, and planning their next adventures. By Easter 2025, Tory knew he was ready. While home for the holiday, he asked Madison’s father for her hand and received a heartfelt “Yes.” With the help of Madison’s best friend, Nicole, he went ring shopping and began crafting the perfect proposal. On July 3rd, surrounded by his closest friends and family at The Emerald Downs horse races, Tory pulled off a surprise straight out of a movie. After arranging “pictures with the winning race horse,” he led Madison into the roped off winner’s circle. As the cameras came out, he told her to turn around to look at the horse, and when she turned back, he was down on one knee holding the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. Once again, Madison didn’t hesitate for a second; she was all in. Now, they are planning the next chapter of their story, building a life filled with love, laughter, faith, family, and endless adventures.
