We first met when we worked together at Gander Mountain back in 2012 and then reconnected on New Year's Eve going into 2014 when Nick texted me asking who I was since he only had me listed as "R' in his phone. When he realized who it was, Nick asked me to go snowmobiling that weekend. On a whim I said yes and we started dating almost instantly. Fast forward 6 years and we have a house together on Oneida Lake with our two wiener dogs, Emma and Lyla!
On September 29th, 2019, Nick took me out on his boat on the Oswego River to fish for salmon. Nick guided me down the river and then had me read off the names of his fishing baits as a promotional video for his business, Soco Baits. When I got to the last one, it said "Will you marry me?" and I was absolutely shocked. If you've watched the video you can see just how surprised I was....cue the ugly crying! Nick had invited his parents and my parents who were able to witness the proposal from on top of the canal wall and afterwards we celebrated with dinner and drinks at Alex's on the Water.
