Here We Go!

Sean and Caitlyn met on their way over to a bible study with some friends at Clemson their sophomore year. Their first meeting was full of laughter and conversation as the two quickly realized that they had a lot in common; with their active lifestyles, environmental immersion, and love for God. It wasn't long until they became good friends and melted into each others' friend groups. By the beginning of their third year at Clemson, Sean decided to take a bold step and ask Caitlyn on date -- a swing dance hosted by Clemson FCA (a group at school that they were mutually involved in) at Chattooga Bell Farm. It was the first of many dances and the start of an exciting new chapter in their journey as a couple.

After two and a half years of goofy adventures and shenanigans, Sean took Caitlyn to a frequently visited peninsula on Lake Hartwell. This spot had been the scene of many bonfires, swims, late night talks, and stargazing. Sean had been there the night before, planting a camera in a tree and making preparations. The couple had visited the idea of marriage in many conversations leading up to this day. They playfully spoke of a hula hoop as a euphemism for an engagement ring. When they got to the point, Caitlyn hopped onto a rock and Sean dropped to one knee. He lifted a buried hula hoop out from under the pine needles around Caitlyn's feet, and then pulled a ring from his pocket. "Will you be my adventure buddy forever?" "Are you serious??" was the first answer Caitlyn gave, so Sean tried asking again. "But are you sure??" was her second answer, and Sean said "of course" and then tried asking again. She said yes and they celebrated by a bonfire after meeting up with some friends out in the woods. Another day of shenanigans turned into a lifetime guarantee of adventures together.

The newlyweds will be living near Raleigh, North Carolina, after sealing their vows. Sean will be continuing his environmental consulting work with Hart & Hickman, and Caitlyn will be pursuing her career in veterinary science, starting with admittance into Veterinary School. Ultimate Frisbee and climbing trips will be just a couple activities that the pair will be involved in. Any free time will be filled with outdoor adventures, Jesus talks, and new recipes in the kitchen.
