Kyle and Tori met through mutual friends going into their senior year of high school. Going to two different schools was tough, but not even the thirty minute drive could keep them apart. Kyle and Tori were inseperable from the start, and after six years nothing has changed! As Kyle & Tori spent their last year of high school together, they made a lot of amazing memories. With Tori cheering on Friday nights and Kyle winning Friday night football games, they still always ended up together late Friday night. Many of their friends and family knew Kyle & Tori would have a long relationship, especially after helping each other through significant knee surgeries that happened to both Kyle & Tori eight days apart. They both faced adversity and got each other through it and by doing that, their injury ended up strengthening the love and compassion they had for one another. As they both decided on a college they wanted to go somewhere together. Kyle got an opportunity to play football for Iowa State and growing up an Iowa State fan, Tori wanted to continue her path to Ames also. Kyle and Tori's love quickly grew as they made it through the early college years as Ames became their home. Living together in Ames, Kyle & Tori are finished up their final semesters at Iowa State. Shortly after graduation, Kyle and Tori now have their first house together in Des Moines in which they are currently living in ready to start their married lives together!

Kyle knew the engagement would be coming soon and searching for the perfect ring for Tori was on his mind. In December of 2016, Kyle went to see a diamond that he had heard about from a friend. As soon as he saw it, there was no doubt in his mind that that was the one. Immediately after Kyle got the ring, he took it to the football facility to store in a safe in efforts to keep the secret from Tori. From the help of all of Kyle's coaches, teammates, and Tori's boss, the plan was set! Kyle had planned the engagement to take place after the Iowa State spring football game. After a handful of meetings with Coach Campbell to talk details, the plan had been set. After the scrimmage in the team huddle, Tori got called up by Coach Campbell to receive an award. Kyle was brought up to give her the award and to Tori's surprise he got down on one knee. During their proposal Kyle and Tori got plenty of pictures and video of the special moment. Soon after, their proposal had gone viral, being picked up by SportsCenter, ESPN, Fox Sports, USA Today, and many more. Kyle and Tori never could have imagined their engagement to go world wide and all the love and support has made it that much better.
