We met doing a show together at our local community theatre in Florence, SC. Being just 13 and 14 years old at the time, we barely talked. But as the years went on and we were in more shows together, we developed a friendship. Jay said he first started having a crush on me a year later, in the spring of 2014. I only saw him as a friend but as we kept getting cast as romantic leads in shows together, I noticed how natural it felt to be in love with him. He asked me out on a date the summer before my senior year of high school, and I hesitantly said yes. After going on a couple of dates I asked my mom, "should I just date him?" She responded, "why not! It could be a fun summer fling." Little did I know what our relationship would become. We both very quickly realized that our relationship was not temporary, that it was something that would last. Even with almost 200 miles separating us for most of our 4.5 years together, we've only grown closer. We began talking about getting married, and it became such a deep desire for both of us. After years of prayer and growth, Jay took me to the top of a mountain overlooking a beautiful valley and asked me to marry him. We cannot wait to tie the knot and start our adventure together as husband and wife!
