We started our journey together from our perfect, persistent matchmaker Stephanie Hazzard, my amazing personal assistant and wife of the best man. Steph had a feeling we were meant for each other, and for over a year before we met she wouldn't fail to mention our names to one another. Jason was referring to me as 'Tori Bents' before we even started dating, and from the first moment I heard Steph say 'Jason Bents,' I couldn't get his name out of my head. After we started talking in September of 2020, I got quarantined at home in Wisconsin for two weeks after our first date. We speed-dated for two weeks before I had to go back to school in Montana. Jason spent a couple weeks out in Bozeman with me while he had online school and I had basketball. (The best thing that happened from COVID!!). I graduated college in May 2021 and moved back home and got a job in Minneapolis as a Labor Nurse. Jason graduated college in December of 2021 and started a job in Public Accounting in Minneapolis. We now work two blocks from each other and live in the cities and love it! We are in the process of looking for a house after the wedding and starting our new life together as a married couple.

Jason proposed on December 13, 2022 while we were on our cruise in the Caribbean. We spent the day at sea on a catamaran, snorkeling and exploring the island of St. Maarten. Once we got off the boat, we headed to the beach and took a sunset walk. As we headed halfway down the beach, we stopped to take a picture with the perfect sunset in the background. That's when Jason set up the self timer (like we had to do for most pictures on our trip) to take a picture, and got down on his knee to propose. It was the perfect proposal, in a perfect place, at the most perfect time. We spent the next hour together in the sand in such excitement until we almost missed the ship leaving the port... Don't worry, we made it! We spent the rest of the vacation celebrating our engagement, and once we got back we couldn't wait to tell everyone and start wedding planning. :)
