Some love stories begin with a single moment, but ours was woven together over many years. Dean and I have always been in each other’s lives in one way or another. He moved to my elementary school in 3rd grade, and from that point on, our paths continued to cross—through middle school, drama class, and even an unspoken 8th-grade crush (though Dean, as he later confessed, never quite worked up the courage to ask me to formal). But despite all those years near each other, our true connection didn’t begin until junior year of high school, when fate—or rather, an unexpected classroom icebreaker—placed us side by side in a science class. From that day forward, everything changed. What started as playful banter quickly turned into something more—something real. Dean asked me to prom, spent hours learning to play the guitar just for me, and we spent countless nights at QT munching on the amazing Mac n Cheese and plenty of dates climbing Sawnee Mountain, lost in conversation about life, dreams, and everything in between. Then came our greatest challenge—distance. When Dean left for the Marines, our love story became one of handwritten letters, countdowns, and learning to cherish every fleeting moment together. I graduated high school and started my journey at UGA, and though miles separated us, our bond only grew stronger. Weekend road trips, airport reunions, and long-awaited homecomings became our reality, teaching us to treasure the simplest moments—because we knew what it was like to be without them. Now, after years of waiting, growing, and loving each other from afar, the distance is finally coming to an end. No more goodbyes—only a lifetime of shared moments, side by side. We cannot wait to begin this new chapter together and celebrate with all of you, the people who have been part of our story from the very beginning.
