This is where we had our first date and where Dave proposed 3 years later, so it holds a special place in our hearts. We like it not just for the sentimental value, they have a great bar and the best view of the Philadelphia city skyline you could ask for. Bonus, it is ten steps from Irwin's, a great restaurant that feels like you walked in to a friend's apartment and that friend just happened to make killer cocktails. Did we mention this is all in a repurposed school? I don't think we did, so this is us mentioning it.
The site of many date nights when Tori lived in South Philly, and where we still go when we're in the mood for some outstanding soup dumplings. Great atmosphere in a lively and restaurant-filled neighborhood that Tori misses at least once a week. Get the roast pork bao bun, you won't regret it.
Dave picked up a new hobby during the pandemic and he does not stop talking about it. This is a beautiful and historic disc golf course nestled in a section of West Philly woods. You can find him here at least 2 days a week, and maybe even the morning before the wedding (but don't tell Tori).
Historic Philly staple. Come for the Rocky statue and recognizable steps, stay for the priceless art.
Two out of two people about to be married in Philadelphia agree: Jim's has the best cheesesteaks in the city.
Weather permitting, they do free kayaking/row boating here on Saturday mornings. While the Schuylkill isn't the nicest river, the community program they run out of here is great. If kayaking isn't your thing, the garden is free to wander around and connects to the Schuylkill River Trail.
If you're checking out the Philly standard sights (Liberty Bell, Independence Hall...), stop in for a snack! They remodeled a couple years ago and brought in a bunch of delicious food and drink vendors. Usually less crowded than Reading Terminal (though that's worth a stop too!).
