The newly-engaged couple's story begins when they met years ago while working together at Way Station and - for those who are thinking a weigh station for trucks - it was not quite that glamorous! Way Station Inc. is a community agency for individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. They both worked in one of their residential programs where they supported 12 individuals on a day-to-day basis. The real starting point was when Tori obtained the seniority to finally work day shift, as opposed to 4PM-12AM, where they would just pass each other at shift change. Cara remembers it like yesterday, immediately noticing Tori as soon as she started working days because her hard work and dedication to serving the clients easily made her stand-out among her peers. In turn, Tori soon took notice of Cara's passion and drive; observing her genuinely compassionate and patient nature as she interacted with these vulnerable individuals - which was not always an easy task - sparked an interest to know her even more! This common interest led them from being coworkers to friends and soon this friendship blossomed into something much more. They became official in February of 2014, and although the exact date can't actually be pinpointed, they have fondly settled on a solid guesstimate of 2/19/2014. The foundation of their relationship has always been built on compassion and hard work and these enduring building blocks have created a thriving partnership and hopeful, flourishing future!
