GETTING AROUND SUN VALLEY

There is just one Uber/Lyft driver in Sun Valley so don't count on them. The Mountain Rides bus is free and can get you just about anywhere, including the airport, downtown Ketchum, and Elkhorn. Rental Car

HERTZ, ENTERPRISE & AVIS AT FRIEDMAN AIRPORT

If you're flying directly into Sun Valley (Friedman Airport), we've planned the weekend so that you don't need a rental car unless you want one. Sun Valley is very compact and nearly everything is walking distance. The Mountain Rides bus system is free and serves Sun Valley, Ketchum and Elkhorn. Additionally, we'll provide shuttles to and from the wedding. However, if you're planning on coming into town early and want to check out some of the incredible hiking and fly fishing nearby, we recommend you rent a car to fully take advantage of the area. You can rent through Hertz, Enterprise and Avis at the Sun Valley Friedman Airport.

Old world European ski-chalet charm appointed with all of the modern conveniences, located a 10 minute walk from downtown Ketchum. Great outdoor patio restaurant. SUN VALLEY LODGE & INN ($$$$)

Where Sun Valley began -- the Sun Valley Lodge. Guest rooms here are on the pricier side, but if you're looking for a taste of luxury, this is it. The lodge is located in the heart of Sun Valley village, a short shuttle, bike ride or walk into Ketchum. Complimentary around-town and airport shuttles. Even if you don't stay at the lodge, it is worth visiting.

CONDO/HOME RENTAL ($$-$$$$)

Local reputable rental companies for homes and condos: Natural Retreats, Sun Valley Luxury Lodging, Alpine Lodging or Vacasa. These rental companies have reasonable cancellations policies and covid-19 protocol cleaning in place. They can be accessed online. You can also find homes and condos via VRBO or Airbnb. Limit your search to Sun Valley, Elkhorn or Ketchum. As long as you stay in Sun Valley, Elkhorn, or Ketchum you will be a 5-10 minute commute anywhere in town. If you decide to stay in Hailey or Bellevue, you will have a longer commute of about 30 minutes each way! We strongly recommend that prior to booking, you confirm that the cancelation policy allows you a 60 day or less fully refundable cancellation.

The Best Western Tyrolean is located in Ketchum a short distance from town and at the base of the Riverrun side of Bald Mountain. 10% discount. Call hotel directly and ask for SHIMCHICK-TEICH reduced rate. If you try to use Booking.com the discount won't work so you will need to call them!
