Take it slow with your physical activity (i.e. don’t plan a 14’er hike for Thursday) Getting plenty of sleep will help a lot.

Between the altitude and our climate, it might be a small miracle if you aren't dehydrated at all during your stay. Starting to hydrate before you arrive and during your trip will help immensely.

The air is thinner in Colorado so the sun’s rays have less atmosphere to pass through before they hit your skin. In addition, the sun can be intense, even if the air temperature isn’t very hot.

Along with dehydration, alcohol TOTALLY hits you harder at altitude. It affects everyone differently, but really take it easy on the drinks, especially the first day or so.

Colorado weather can change quickly, ESPECIALLY in the high country. We plan to keep a close eye on the forecasts, but if you check weather yourself, remember most weather apps will only give you weather for the town of Marble, not necessarily the areas you will be exploring as you go further into the mountains. Even in the summer, the air cools significantly in the mountains after dark. It’s not unusual for an 80 degree day to drop to the mid 50’s after the sun goes down. We suggest you bring a wrap, jacket, or puffy for the reception- although dancing should keep you warm!
