Hike the Cascades
4 mile round trip hike to a beautiful waterfall. Jump in if you want to cool down! There is a small parking fee.
Explore the Virginia Tech Campus
Drive through or walk around the beautiful campus of Virginia Tech. Explore the Drill Field, Duck Pond, and Hahn Horticulture gardens. Parking is free on the weekends, but is restricted on weekdays. Pick up a free parking pass at the Visitor Center located at 925 Prices Fork Road.
Tubing at New River Junction
One of New River Valley's favorite summer activities with a little excitement. See website for fees and details.
Walk/Hike at Pandapas Pond
Take a leisurely stroll around the pond or venture out on the trails. Free to park.
Mountain Lake Lodge/Bald Knob Hike
Explore the resort where "Dirty Dancing" was filmed. The parking lot for Bald Knob is a gravel lot just before you enter the lodge grounds. The hike is .5 miles to the top, but is relatively steep. Spectacular views and even better at sunset!
Falls Ridge Preserve
Tori's Dad calls this "the hidden gem of the New River Valley." Short and easy walk with a unique waterfall. Free to park. See website for directions.
