Our venue is Broholm Castle at Broholmsvej 32, DK-5884 Gudme. You can view the location in Google Maps. Once you arrive, you'll see our toastmaster Tomas directing you to the location where the reception will take place. There's a staircase at the castle you must use to access the reception space.
The easiest way to get to and from church and venue is by car. We will not be providing any shuttle service between church and venue.
There is free on-site parking in front of the Ollerup Church and Broholm Castle.
Our church ceremony will be indoors, tea and cake serving will take place outdoors at Broholm Castle (if the weather permits) and the reception will take place indoors. Guests will walk to the castle on gravel path and will probably need to step on grass briefly. For that reason, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels are not recommended.
We have not reserved rooms for our guests at Broholm Castle. Out-of-town guests will need to arrange accommodation. Please book your stay to guarantee a room.
Our dress code is black-tie optional. We ask that you wear a tuxedo or dark suit and tie; an evening gown or a midi- or knee-length cocktail dress would be appropriate.
Funen summers are warm during the day and cool at night, so we recommend a light wrap to cover bare shoulders and sunglasses/hats for the outdoor activities.
You are welcome to bring additional plus-one to our ceremony and reception.
We'll be serving tea/coffee and cake in the afternoon followed by a three-course gourmet menu. There will be a meat, fish and gluten-free/nut-free/vegan options available.
If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know. We want you to feel comfortable and well fed!
There will be wine, beer and soda for guests to enjoy throughout the reception, however, we do recommend bringing cash or a credit card along if you plan to attend the after-party, as drinks after the festive dinner will not be covered.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can bring gifts to the venue (Broholm Castle) – we will open them at the beginning of the reception.
The doors to the church will open 30 minutes ahead of our ceremony time. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes ahead of the ceremony start time to ensure you have enough time to walk to the ceremony space and find your seat.
Between the ceremony and reception there will be at least an hour gap to ensure everyone arrives at the venue (Broholm Castle) on time - while we get our photos taken.
We kindly ask that you keep our church ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special ritual, so that guests aren't distracted by their devices and the professional wedding photographer can get the best possible shots without the interference of other mobile screens. As for the reception, we love the idea of having a variety of photos from different vantage points. You are welcome to document our event outside the church.
