This date almost did not happen because Liz went out the night before with her sorority sisters and drunkenly called James super late and told him she loved him already......Nevertheless, James arrived in Athens to take Liz out to dinner at one of her favorite Mexican restaurants, La Fiesta. After lots of cheese dip and margaritas later, Liz and James both thought that this could be the last "first date".
If you know James and Liz at all - you know they like beer and traveling. How could James possibly propose without combining the two? The two had booked a 7-day Spring Break Cruise to the Western Caribbean and decided to drive down a day earlier to Jupiter, FL. After visiting some local breweries and having a delicious beach-side dinner, they decided to call it an early night to get up in the morning to watch the sunrise. James knew that Liz loves watching beach sunrises, so he knew it would be the perfect time to pop the question! The morning came and Liz groaned as the alarm went off. Meanwhile, James had been up for hours nervously going over his plan. The two got dressed and walked out the door to walk on the beach. Liz expected it to be a semi-workout and was confused when she noticed James leisurely taking his time. As the sun started peaking out through the clouds, James slowed down and nervously got down on one knee and said, "Elizabeth Ann, on the last cruise we went on you were my girlfriend. On this cruise I want you to be my fiancé. Will you marry me?" He completely took Liz off guard because despite looking at rings a few times, James had kept saying "It won't happen till April". Through the tears she shouted "Yes!" Liz and James then got ready to brewery hop in Miami before boarding the Carnival Magic and upgrading their drink package to unlimited to celebrate!
