Abbie and Ryan met at Stout PGH, through mutual friends who would have them over on Friday nights. Although they were friends for a while, Abbie and Ryan didn't fall for one another until she was 2000 miles away in Costa Rica. What started as a random text to catch up, turned into texting everyday and late night video calls until 2am. When she got home, Abbie and Ryan went on 7 dates in 10 days before she went to finish her last semester at college. The late night calls continued, and the rest is history. Ryan proposed to Abbie on a snowy day while they were hunting the top of his grandparents' property. At the top of the hill, he told Abbie that there was a deer behind her, and got down on one knee when she looked away from him. She was confused to what he was doing on his knee at first, but then spotted a small, black box in his hand. Any deer in the area were scared off by the yelling and crying that followed. Neither of them got a deer, but they did get something better.
