It all started when Pat was in need of a friend to travel with him to San Francisco to see Hamilton in June 2017 (it was a thing back then). Pat was living in North Carolina at the time, and his friend, Paul, flew all the way from Berlin for a long weekend in California. Paul remembered, "I think my cousin, Beth, lives in San Francisco. She's cool, I'll send her a message to see if she wants to get dinner one night." This suggestion would come back to haunt him as we ended up spending three days in a row with Beth and her friends. Beth and Pat kept in touch after the trip (another fatal error by Paul - giving Beth Pat's number) and in an unexpected turn of events about a month later, Pat was approached with a potential job opportunity in the Bay Area. By January, he was a California resident. Beth and Pat took it slow for the first year, as Pat got used to living and working in California, but Beth was determined to show him everything to love about the Golden State. Dates were spent exploring the city or the coastline with dogs in tow, visiting Beth’s favorite champage bar The Riddler, and spending time with friends in and out of the city. The true test was when Beth took Pat to her friend Melissa’s wedding in 2018. She knew if he could hold up on the dance floor AND get along with her friends, this was going to be it. A few months later they were at a NYE party in Paris saying I love you. Fast forward through a pandemic and moving in together (the true test for Pat), he finally decided to propose, and in May 2021 he put a (his grandma’s) ring on it!
In Beth's family there is a tradition of anchors being a family symbol. This is due to the family home her great grandpa built in Rye, New Hampshire, which was named "Our Anchorage" Thus, ToothAnchor was born. Tooth. Anchor. Like ToothAKER. Get it?
We came to love Boonville, and the Boonville Hotel, in 2019 when we attended a friend's wedding at the hotel (shoutout Scott & Amy). It was in the middle of one of California's big wildfires in Healdsburg and power was cut to a big portion of the state. Without power the hotel made it work, and the wedding was one of the best either of us had ever been to! We love the small, personal, intimate feel of the Boonville Hotel and the pace of life when you are in Boonville. Not to mention the food is AMAZING. During the shutdown of the pandemic, we made several trips to Boonville (wine tasting outside was always available and a couple hour drive to get a change of scenery from working at home). We’ve always enjoyed our time relaxing up there and getting to know the area. What more can you ask for from a small town with great people, great food, and great wine?!
