Our Story

11/22/2013

Tony and Morgan met during fall 2011 of their freshmen year at University of California, Santa Cruz. When Tony saw Morgan for the first time, he thought she was so beautiful that his jaw literally dropped! Although they became acquainted on the night they met, their love story didn't begin until two years later... In 2013, they reconnected when Tony was rushing a fraternity and had a social with Morgan's sorority. They ended up talking to each other for hours, just enjoying each other's company. Tony asked Morgan on their first date on November 22, 2013. Tony arrived at the door with beautiful flowers, opened the car door for Morgan, and presented himself as the perfect gentleman. He treated Morgan to sushi, which happened to be her first time and later became one of Morgan's favorites. Tony and Morgan have now been together for over 8 years. They have lived in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Belmont, and now reside in Burlingame, CA with their siamese cat named Mochi. They spend their time together by traveling (Japan being their favorite), going to music festivals, skiing/snowboarding in Tahoe every winter, eating delicious foods and drinking boba.

The Proposal

11/14/2020

Tony proposed to Morgan on 11/14/2020 on a beautiful sunny day in San Francisco. Leading up to the proposal, Tony told Morgan he had a surprise planned in celebration of their anniversary, which was later that week. Coincidentally, Tony's parents were also visiting from LA for a convention for work. On the big day, Tony brought Morgan to get her nails done at a trendy little nail bar in the city. He then brought Morgan to Baker Beach in San Francisco. They walked along the beach holding hands while watching the sunset. At the end of their walk was a surprise! Both Morgan and Tony's parents were there! Turns out the work convention wasn't real and Tony's parents were actually in town for the engagement. In addition to both sets of parents, several close friends and a photographer were all present holding flowers, champagne and sparklers. Morgan was shocked! She then turned to look at Tony to find him already down on one knee. In his hands, the most beautiful solitaire diamond sparkling on a rose gold band. Tony reflected on all the amazing times they've spent together and asked Morgan to marry him. She enthusiastically said yes! After the proposal, Tony and Morgan, along with both of their parents, all had dinner together in celebration. It was the first time both sets of parents got to meet each other, and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal for the first time as the Martinez-Wiser family.
