Question

Background

Answer

In 2023, we got engaged on the Amalfi Coast during an unforgettable trip to Europe with close friends. With our small families, we knew we wanted to return for an intimate destination wedding—making it even more special by sharing quality time together in a cozy setting.

Question

Why Portugal?

Answer

Portugal offers a great gastronomy, rich culture, friendly people, and sunny weather throughout the year. Lisbon is also considered San Francisco’s older sister, due to similarities between the two cities: cable cars, hills, friendly people and welcoming vibe. Not to mention 2 fun facts: - Lisbon is only 1 degree of latitude north of San Francisco. - Lisbon has a bridge (Ponte 25 April) strikingly similar in design and color to our California Golden Gate Bridge, because they were built by the same company. We can't wait to experience Portugal's charm with our loved ones!

Question

Where is the wedding venue?

Answer

Our wedding venue, Quinta da Bichinha, is a centuries-old wine estate just 45 minutes outside Lisbon, Portugal. It's got everything we were looking for: beautiful gardens, vast vineyards, and a lakefront view. Best of all, we'll have the entire place to ourselves for two days to relax and enjoy each other's company.

Question

How do we get to Quinta da Bichinha?

Answer

The easiest way to get from Lisbon airport to Quinta da Bichinha is by Uber, costing around 50 euros. However, you can also rent a car in the airport, and it is an easy drive. Since everyone needs to check out by 12pm on Friday, May 8th (day after the wedding). We will be looking into booking a bus service to take everyone back to downtown Lisbon. More details regarding check in and check-out will follow with the formal invites!

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There are parking lots on-site for anyone renting a car.

Question

Is the venue indoor or outdoor?

Answer

Outdoor! The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be outdoors, weather permitting.

Question

Where do we - the guests - stay?

Answer

We're so excited to make our wedding a truly special moment with our closest family and friends! The best part? Our venue has everything we need, and we’ve reserved rooms for our family and wedding party from May 6-8, right on-site! In addition, there are a limited # of extra rooms available for our other guests to book on a first come, first serve basis: 10 double rooms (90€ per night), 4 twin rooms (90€ per night), 1 quadruple room (110€ per night), and 2 premium double rooms (150€ per night). Please note, this is a guesthouse, so there isn't a 24-hour front desk. However, a continental breakfast is included and available from 10-11am. We'll update this website with booking details once the formal invitations are sent! In addition there are a number of different accommodations within a 5-20km radius from the venue: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xK1ousm2Tx87871_kmEt78TbDl2KLLuy/view

Question

How many days do I need to allocate for your wedding?

Answer

The wedding festivities kick off start on May 6th with a Welcome Dinner and drinks at our venue—it is optional but highly encouraged! The big Wedding Day is on May 7th, and the celebration will go all night! Check-out is the following day, on May 8th at 12pm. The finalized schedule and RSVP info will be posted on this website after formal invites are sent!

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

For the welcome dinner, we’d love for everyone to be our “something blue” in cocktail attire (cocktail dresses, chinos, etc)! Please wear shades of blue—a color that represents loyalty, trust, and serenity, qualities we hope to carry into our marriage. For our wedding day, please join us in formal attire. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all dressed in your best!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We want everyone to be present, relaxed, and fully in the moment with us. We kindly ask for an unplugged ceremony, meaning once it begins, please silence your phones and put them away. Our photographer and videographer will capture everything, and we’ll be sure to share those memories with you! After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos as you’d like and don’t forget to share them with us!

Question

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Answer

We will be having a set menu for our dinner service, however the venue has confirmed their ability to accommodate the needs of our guests. Should you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, we will be capturing this information at a later date (via RSVP) so we can inform the venue.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you... get ready to party!! The dance floor will be open and the drinks will be flowing until 4am or until the majority of the party calls it a night.

Question

Can I bring a guest/date?

Answer

Due to limited capacity we will only be able to accommodate those specifically listed out on your invitation. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out and thank you for understanding!

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

RSVP details will be sent in the formal invites. There will also be an RSVP tab on this website that we will publish after mailing out formal invites. Please be on the look out for the formal invites to come and be sure to RSVP by January 30th!
