The Chip and Joanna Gaines mecca. Besides Baylor, the Magnolia brand put Waco on the map. Everything here is well done - shopping, home decor, snacks, coffee, ice cream, food trucks. The silos and market are really close to campus and our host hotels.
Did you know that Dr. Pepper is original to Waco?! One of the first things I show newbies to the city, and a pretty good museum. A Waco classic.
Baylor’s resident science museum. Tony’s favorite is the limited edition space exhibit and Meredith loves the natural science sections. This was also a top five date for Mere and Tony.
Yes, it's July in Texas. Yes, it's going to be hot, BUT this is one of the best zoos we’ve ever been to.
One of our favorite dates (although we didn’t officially "escape".) There are a couple of game rooms for 2 people and several escape rooms for 4-6 people.
Want to see where Tony and Mere met? Yep, it’s right here, surrounded by dice and cards. They let you rent out games in the building, which is great too!
A really fun food hall in Waco and another Tony/Meredith staple. Tony’s favorite is Blasian Asian. Mere loves Village Pizzaria, Whizzbang’s, Wacoal Tacos, King’s Chicken. The point is, everything is good and everyone can get what they want and eat at tables in the common area.. Amy (Mere’s Mom) loves the pazole at Huaco Mexican Eatery.
This is Tony’s favorite Waco restaurant. The milkshakes are totally bomb.
Great pizza by the slice (or a whole pie) and right on the Brazos river. It's a fun college hangout and perfect place for lunch or dinner.
