Not many people know the actual story of how they met. While they became friends through Move Ya Brass in May of 2017 it wasn't until the next month that Tony sent Meg a Facebook Message with a picture of brownies covered in caramel sauce from Pulp-N-Grind in New Orleans. Neither Tony nor Meg can remember exactly why the taunting brownie photo needed to be sent but that was the start of our story. Two people who were living 2600 miles away quickly became not just friends but good friends with each other. From sharing experiences like 2017s Red Dress Run and While Linen Night to playing tourist in the French Quarter when Meg came to town. However, it was when Meg began training for her Ironman 70.3 and Tony asked her to help him train for his first Marathon that things seemed to change. It took two people 9 months of being friends to finally admit that there was something more there and finally admit not only themselves but each other that all the reasons why they'd been hesitant to give something more than friendship a try just didn't seem to matter anymore.
There is nothing unusual about Tony getting Meg coffee in the morning, in fact it is something that he does daily while she grumbles around the house...she doesn't wake up until the cup of coffee is gone! So while on their cruise Meg was enjoying the view on their cabins balcony and Tony went to get her coffee. When he came back he came out to the balcony where she was sitting and then went back inside saying he forgot to stir in the brown sugar. After he came back again he handed her the coffee and she put it down because her stomach hurt. They sat there like they do most mornings talking and in this case enjoying the amazing view. About an hour later she reached for her coffee, took off the lid and screamed. The ring was under the 'no spill' lid. He asked. She cried. She said yes.
