Lindsay and Tony were bumbling along on June 6, 2019 when the algorithm presented each other with an option to say hello or keep searching for a match. The glow of the cell phone screen must have been extra bright on that early summer day, because these two love birds both chose 'yes'. Lindsay was "hoping to find something genuine" and Tony was "looking for a life partner". Both were active, outdoorsy types with established careers and looking for someone to build a life with. The only thing left was to meet in person and see if sparks would fly. Twelve days later, after some small talk and negotiating a meeting time, they met at 'Grassa' a casual pasta restaurant in NW Portland. Dinner and drinks at a sidewalk table with a warm summer breeze proved to be the right setting for a successful first date (good job Tony). The second date however was a bit different. Portland was experiencing a torrential downpour and Lindsay was running late. Tony was oddly early but luckily they chose a brewery for dinner. Tony was enjoying a red IPA when Lindsay finally arrived a bit flustered and with an odd itch. Turns out she took a spill while mountain biking a couple days earlier and landed in a field of poison oak. She had just picked up the medication prior to the date and its effect only lasted half the date. Tony was patient and understanding while Lindsay feverishly itched for the last 30 mintues. Tony thought....wow, she's a bad ass. Lindsay thought...wow, he's a sweetheat.
