We’re getting married!!!

Tony and I (Lillz here!) met at the International Assembly in 2016! I was at the youth booth and Tony walks up to chat. I was scrolling on my phone when a guy I’ve never seen before catches my eye. In all my sass, I say, “I’ve never seen YOU before.” Tony makes kind small talk (I hardly remember what he said to be honest) and theres no real lasting impression on my end. At the end of Assembly my brother and I need a ride to the airport and my uncle offers to give us a ride. My uncle married Tony’s aunt. When I get in the car, there he is, in a blue suit. (Lookin’ good I’ll add) We talk in the car, (I am less sassy and a lot more friendly) and I give him my number. It’s in that car ride that we realize some similarities, and common values. I get dropped off and don’t think anything of that conversation, but Tony took some mental notes. He texted me from California, and I living in Tennessee didn’t think anything of it. I dated other people. He dated other people. Things didn’t work out. When a job opened up at the I.O in 2019 (international offfices for COGOP) he prayed about it. He felt like God was leading him into a new way to serve his church. He interviewed, and took the position as Project Manager. We run into each other on the third floor of the building. “What are you doing here?” He asks. “I work here,” I say. “What are YOU doing here?” I ask. “I work here.” He says. Our minds were flooded with thoughts. I was dating someone else at the time (as MOST of you already know) and he didn’t realize I had a job on the SAME floor. Things ended with that relationship I was in. Tony was EXTATIC. He asked me out the next week, and it had led to this moment very quickly. I fell in love with him on a Saturday while playing the whisper challenge game (look it up - its hilarious). Looking into his big brown eyes, my heart knew this was my person. September 28th, he asked me to marry him, and again I was flooded with peace and excitement. So here we are! Let’s do thisssss!
