After 10 years of being together, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Because our families live on different coasts, we decided to have a small wedding ceremony at the iconic Portland Maine City Hall followed by larger celebrations with our families in our hometowns. We look forward to celebrating with you!
We met in June 2013 on an archaeological dig in Transylvania, Romania. That summer, we bonded over views of the breathtaking Carpathian mountains, trips to Sighisoara (the birthplace of Dracula), gelato in the afternoon, and Hungarian palinka (plum brandy) at night. At the end of the summer, Julia went back to New York and Tony to New Mexico. We kept in touch, writing letters to each other. The following Valentine's Day, Julia opened her apartment door to find Tony there, flowers in hand, having flown across the country and walked 60 blocks uptown to surprise her. The rest is history!
