FAQs

Question

Where should I fly into?

Answer

Rome is the best option! Rome Fiumicino (FCO) has the most nonstop flights from the US, and it’s an easy drive or train ride to the venue. You can also fly into Florence, but you’ll need to connect through a European city first.

Question

Can I fly into Florence instead?

Answer

Of course. There are no nonstop flights from the US, so you’ll connect through a European city. The venue is about 1 hour 45 minutes from Florence airport. Rome has the most nonstop options from the US.

Question

Can I rent a car?

Answer

You definitely can! If you’re planning to explore Tuscany before or after the wedding, a car is the best way to do it. You can pick one up at Rome Fiumicino Airport (about a 2.5-hour drive, almost entirely on the A1 highway) or in Chiusi, about 45 minutes from the venue. Rental offices in Chiusi are small and often close Saturday afternoons and Sundays, so reserve ahead. But if you’re just coming for the wedding events, no need. We will have shuttles run between the venue and nearby hotels.

Question

Can I take the train?

Answer

Yes, but wouldn't be our first choice! Take the train to Chiusi-Chianciano Terme. From Rome Fiumicino Airport it’s about 2.5–3 hours with one change. From Rome Termini or Florence, there are direct trains. From Chiusi, the venue is about 45 minutes by car. Uber doesn’t operate out here, so pre-book a taxi or private transfer.

Question

How do I get between my accommodations and the events?

Answer

We’ve got you covered! Shuttles will run between the venue and nearby hotels before and after each event. The country roads here are dark and winding at night, so please leave the driving to us and enjoy the celebration. More specific details to come!

Question

Why is the RSVP deadline so early?

Answer

Please RSVP by January 1, 2027. Planning three days of events abroad takes a lot of lead time, and we need final numbers early to make everything amazing for you.

Question

How soon should I book accommodations?

Answer

Please book by the end of January 2027. September is peak season, and the best options fill up fast.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

The wedding is black tie. Gentlemen, please wear tuxedos. Ladies, we’d love to see you in floor-length gowns or elegant formal dresses in jewel tones: think emerald, sapphire, ruby, amethyst, and deep gold. Please reach out to Tony or Robert if you’d like to see the mood board!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Late September in Tuscany is beautiful: warm days in the mid-70s, cooling to the low 60s at sunset and the 50s later at night. Bring a shawl or light jacket for the evenings. We’ll also have some blankets and wraps on hand.

Question

How many days should I plan for?

Answer

The wedding events run Monday, September 20 through Wednesday, September 22, 2027. We recommend arriving at least a day or two early to get over jet lag and settle in. If you can, stay a few extra days to explore. You’ll be in one of the most beautiful corners of Italy!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding events are adults-only, with the exception of children in the wedding party.

Question

Do I need anything special to travel to Italy?

Answer

US citizens don’t need a visa for short stays, but your passport should be valid for at least 3 months after you leave (6 months to be safe). The EU’s new ETIAS travel authorization may be required by 2027, so check travel.state.gov a few months before your trip.

Question

Any practical tips for Italy?

Answer

Money: Italy uses euros. Cards are widely accepted, but carry some cash for small shops, cafés, and tips. Phone: Check your carrier’s international plan or grab an eSIM before you go. Tipping: Not expected the way it is in the US. Rounding up or leaving a few euros for great service is plenty.
