Michelle and I were talking through the hinge app after my cousin Ally told me about the app (I matched with Michelle that week). I would always buy Panda Express before my long talks with Michelle but would end up reheating my meal since we would talk for hours on the phone. I can’t tell you how much that annoyed me at the time since a quick 30 minutes would turn into 2 hours. She came down to SD and we went to Coronado Island for our first date. I bought her Starbucks and we walked through the hotel Del Coronado before sitting by a fire near the beach. On our way back to my apartment we got In and Out for the first time (truthfully I never really liked In n Out before Michelle). We went back to the apartment and we exchanged stories about recently deceased loved ones and how they impacted our lives (shout out to Uncle Russ). We had such a great time that we ended up hanging out the next day at Seaport Village in SD before she went back to LA. After driving back-and-forth to see one another, I asked her to move into my apartment in SD. We survived COVID which was the ultimate crucible since we were living in a one bedroom apartment while both of us were at home working and studying. We may get on each other’s nerves quite often but we couldn’t imagine life without the other and that is something really worth while.
