We met on Valentine's Day 2021, and we didn't even realize it; we were both too lost in grief to see we'd started writing each other on February 14th, 2021, at 3:48 PM. My beloved grandfather, Jim Kelsey, passed away unexpectedly on January 31st, 2021. A short time prior, Tom's best friend Louis had passed away unexpectedly at the age of 27. In an attempt to distract ourselves from our grief, we both took to an online forum to make friends around the world. We were both at one of the lowest points in our lives, and it was nothing short of divine intervention that brought us together to heal, understand, and love each other. We quickly bonded over shared interests and experiences, each of us feeling we had never met another person more like ourselves. A close internet friendship turned into something more, and I went to meet Tom and spend time with him in Australia in 2025. We fell even deeper in love, and each of us agreed that we wanted this to last forever.
