We're getting married!

I love when people ask how Nash and I met, because we’ve known each other for nearly our whole lives. We were 9 and 10 years old the first time I saw Nash running around my Gramps and Grandma Saboo’s house with my cousin Sammy and his other friend Bernie. I don’t think he’s stopped running around ever since. If you know Nash, you know what I mean, always on the go. He was so cute, and that’s when I fell for him. I’ve had a crush on him since 1993. So I think it was valid of me to finally ask him at a party in 2005 why he never calls me. He said it was because he didn’t have my number. So we exchanged numbers, and smart man that he is, he called me, and we started hanging out. We had a lot of fun together, and we’d pick on my cousins by flirting and kissing in front of them; boy did they hate that! Haha. Sadly, I was a mere, silly 21 year old at the time and I didn’t think settling down was for me, so I foolishly let him go. I thought I was protecting him from heartbreak, not realizing until he was gone that I was breaking my own heart. I never stopped thinking about him and wondering how he was doing. Just ask his cousin, Alicia, because I would ask her from time to time. I always hoped I’d get a second chance with him, but we were always seeing other people, and I was starting to lose hope. And then the universe has a way of bringing people back together that we’re just meant to be. We were both finally single at the same time, healing from our wounded hearts. There was a catch though. I’d heard that Nash had already started seeing someone new, but I wasn’t sure. So when he invited me to a party of his, I tried to make my move. It’s quite comical thinking back on it now, but not so much at the time. I kept trying to corner him at the party to talk to him, and the man kept running away from me. You know, the man that never quits running around. Turns out he was seeing someone else already. I was devastated. I had lost my chance again, and probably for good, I thought. However, I didn’t give up entirely, and I just may or may not have had Alicia put a little bug in his ear for me. And as it turned out, that little bug worked. When he heard that I was into him he ended it with that other person and called me up. I couldn’t believe it. I was finally getting my second chance with him. We had changed a lot since we were 21, and been through a lot. What made me fall for him so hard this time around was how open he was with me about his feelings; about me, him, his past, his future, our future. We both wanted to do it right this time and make it count. And we’ve been working on us and our little family ever since. We’ve had our ups and downs just like any other couple does, so we enlisted the help of a wonderful couple’s therapist. They helped us get back to having fun and communicating better again and made our relationship even stronger. And I’ve never been more in love with this man. He’s hard working, talented, smart, funny, caring, a protector, and a wonderful father. He makes me so happy and he always has a big hug and smile on his face for me that just warms my heart every time. I can’t think of anyone better than him to navigate this life with. He’s been so supportive through all of life’s twists and turns and I don’t want to ever imagine what it would ever be like without him. Our love story is truly my favorite. We were meant to be and we finally found our way back to each other. I genuinely cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with him. And to celebrate with all of our family and friends is the icing on the cake. Thank you for celebrating with us, we love you all!
