Despite learning our paths have likely crossed numerous times throughout our lives, it wasn’t until we were blindly set up by family in February 2023 that we actually met for the first time. I was given Chris’ number by Bob, my sisters father-in-law and long time friend of Chris’ parents, who thankfully followed up because I never would have blind-texted a stranger on my own. That small nudge led to a whirlwind beginning, finally making it to our first date after scheduling chaos, a second date that involved ATV riding, getting COVERED in mud, meeting his family and friends, and somehow still wanting more. We quickly realized that despite our nerves and very different definitions of “good weather,” something special was unfolding. Within months we were fully immersed in each other’s lives, seamlessly blending weekend cheer competitions and camping trips. It didn’t take long for us to realize we had found our perfectly awkward match. In November 2024, the night we brought home our camper, Chris proposed by the glow of his headlamp, with dead camper batteries and a chirping smoke detector providing the soundtrack. It was unexpected, ridiculous, deeply heartfelt, and absolutely perfect. I didn’t hesitate for a second. We cannot wait to celebrate with our family and friends as we begin this next chapter together, surrounded by the people who helped bring us here. 🤍
